Williams Limited, Architect / Williams & Stewart Associates Limited located in Richmond Hill, was established in 1973 and is an industry leader in providing Architectural Control services to developers, builders and municipalities in the GTHA. Our primary focus is to maintain a high standard of built form design quality within new subdivisions that results in enhanced streetscapes. We achieve this by formulating Design Guidelines and implementing an architectural control process that promotes attractive and vibrant new neighborhoods. Position – Architectural Control Assistant

We are offering an opportunity to advance your career in the specialized field of architectural control. As the Architectural Control Assistant, you will play a key role in reviewing future residential neighborhoods, preparing architectural proposals, liaising with municipalities, design architects and builders, supporting senior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and critique of builder architectural plans and elevations, site plans, exterior materials and colour schemes;
  • Preparation of Subdivision Priority Lot plans 
  • Preparation of fee proposals to developers / builders in new subdivisions
  • Assist in preparation of Design Guidelines
  • Liaise with builders, Municipal Saff and Design Architects;
  • Conduct site visits throughout the GTHA

Qualifications / Skills

As our A/C Assistant you will possess a degree related to architecture, urban design and/or planning; Experience in low- to mid-rise residential architecture; A keen understanding of GTA residential design and market trends; Highly developed communication skills (written, verbal and graphic); Superior self-motivation with a precise eye for detail; Excellent project management, organizational and computer skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and complete multiple project assignments;

Experience in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop)

Ability to travel throughout the GTHA and perform site visits;
